Before School Childcare
We are open from 7.30 each morning giving plenty of opportunity for parents and carers to get ahead of the rush hour.  Each before school session offers a range of individual and group activities.  Examples include 'wake-up: shake-up', 'show and tell' or team game.

Breakfast comprising a selection of cereal, toast, porridge, yoghurt and fruit is inclusive in the cost.  At the end of the before school session all children are accompanied by a staff member to the designated point to meet teaching staff at the start of the school day.

After School Childcare
In many cases the school day ends before people have finished work, training or their own studies.  The government's extended schools agenda seeks to address the conflict between being available to collect children at the end of the school day and parent's/carer's own persuit of employment, training or education by encouraging schools to offer services beyond the end of the normal school day.  After school childcare is one of these initiatives and provides childcare long after normal extra-curricular activities.

At The Fun Zone we collect children at the end of the school day or after extra-curricular activities, providing childcare up to 6.00 pm.  Whilst they attend The Fun Zone, children are provided with a range of planned activities using a range of resources in areas such as role-play, construction or creative activities and indoor or outdoor games.  In addition children may relax and socialise with each other with less structure at the end of the school day.  For more information on the types of activities see the section titled Care, Learning and Play.

A meal is inclusive in the after school session serving a range of healthy and nutritious meals to include Spaghetti bolognaise, Baked potatoes with a variety of fillings, lasagne, pie and mixed vegetables, casseroles and curry and rice.  These meals are intended to boost energy levels but for some smaller children they provide a suitable afternoon meal and even for older children the need for large meal at the end of the day is replaced.

Holiday playscheme
The holiday playscheme is a solution to the childcare issues that are presented by school holidays and teacher training days.  Holiday playschemes are registered seperately so there is no requirement to use the same day as during term time.  Furthermore, holiday playschemes are extended to families and children that attend other schools normally.

Our service begins at 7.30 am and is open until 6.00 pm.  There is a range of pricing structures that meet the needs of families that do not necessarily require full day care.  Please enquire for further details.

The playscheme includes breakfast, a nutritional lunch and healthy afternoon snack each day depending on the actual hours that children are in attendance. In addition children will be able to help themselves to fruit and refreshments throughout the day.

Each holiday playscheme has one or more theme which many activities are based upon.  As well as the same stimulating learning and play activities that are offered as part of the before and after school service, we also have outings and trips to places of interest as well as special feature days focussed on activities such as dancing, art, sport and health awareness.
