A quality workforce
Our staff team have a range of experience working in education, playwork and early years. Each staff member brings unique qualities and skills to our team which benefit the children.

All staff will have been subjected to an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure check before they are able to work unsupervised with the children.

We operate with a minimum ratio of one staff member to every eight children in line with the Every Child Matters Framework and Ofsted National Standards.  Staffing levels are increased where the risk assessment of a planned activity highlights this as necessary.  This is achieved through the employment of Relief Playworkers.  This concept involves having staff that are able to work on a flexible ad-hoc basis as and when required.  Relief Playworkers also help us to maintain minimum ratios when there are staff absences due to sickness training or annual leave.

Each site has a dedicated Senior Playworker who is recognised by Ofsted as a person suitable to take charge of a childcare setting.  Senior Playworkers hold a minimum level 3 qualification in Playwork or other relevant field.  Some are now enrolled and working towards level4 qualifications.

Playworkers will have or be working towards a suitable level 2 qualification and in some cases will have or be working towards a level 3 qualification.

Staff are given supplementary training in relevant training courses such as first aid, food hygiene, health and safety, child protection, equality and inclusion and customer service.  Where applicable these qualifications are repeated to ensure that time limited qualified status does not expire.
